How it all began

It all started back in 2020 when COVID hit, and the CEO, Milen Denev, saw an opportunity for a CMS (Content Management System) written in ASP.NET Core. Due to the unprecedented e-commerce demand, it evolved into an e-commerce solution with ERP and other advanced options.

Even though it was a successful project, the service was costly to maintain because it was hosted on Windows Virtual Machines. The migration to Linux could have been easy if it wasn't reliant on IIS (Internet Information Services). So, for this purpose, a new tool was developed called Redox (because it was a reduced version of IIS with only the specific features that were needed).

Redox was again a C# ASP.NET Core and YARP-based software. Back in the day, we offered a big, all-in-one platform. For example, if you wanted an ERP solution, you were forced to also have a website based on our solution, and hosting and everything else was provided by us. For some people, this was a nice solution, but for others, it was not great because they might be happy with certain software stacks they had and not with others, and had to migrate completely to use and 100% rely on us. We thank all those customers that up to this day have put all this trust into our suite of services.

So, as an effort to expand our portfolio, we decided to begin breaking up parts of this software, and one of those was to offer Redox as a service because it was doing a great job of accelerating our own websites and serving as a dynamic CDN.

This process began in late 2023, and by early 2024 we had the first results. ASP.NET Core and YARP didn't meet the standards of a service that would serve billions of requests a day, or even if it was possible, it would require way too much computing power. So we rewrote the whole software stack in Rust.

The reason we chose Rust is because of the memory safety without garbage collection and the rich ecosystem, which allowed for more rapid development. A few months later, the new product (internally known as OxyRedox, which stands for Oxidized Redox), a blazingly fast reverse proxy with a ton of features, was completed as it was intended right from the beginning.

Without a doubt, our suite of services has addressed a unique set of challenges that other third-party products were unable to solve. Our comprehensive approach allows us to offer tailored solutions that integrate seamlessly across various systems, reducing the complexity and fragmentation many businesses face when piecing together multiple tools. Whether it's our highly efficient e-commerce platform, dynamic CDN capabilities, or our innovative ERP solutions, we’ve created a robust ecosystem designed to meet the diverse needs of modern businesses. We are more than happy to extend these solutions to anyone seeking to optimize their operations, streamline workflows, or enhance their digital infrastructure. Our commitment to continuous innovation ensures that we remain a step ahead, providing cutting-edge technology that evolves with the demands of the industry.
